Crazyradio PA – long range 2.4GHz USB radio dongle with antenna

The Crazyradio PA is a long range USB radio dongle that features a 20dBm power amplifier that, in use with the Crazyflie 2.0, gives a range of over 1km (in line of sight). If it is used with another Crazyradio PA, then this range increases to over 2km, again in line of sight. Of course, this module comes pre-programmed with Crazyflie-compatible firmware and so can be used with both the Crazyflie and Crazyflie 2.0. Please note however that you will only get the range mentioned above when using the Crazyflie 2.0. 

However, the use of this module is not limited to the Crazyflies. This is a completely open project using a Python API and so it is a great building block for any system that requires a longer range than that supplied via WiFi. The hardware comes shipped with the latest firmware as well as a bootloader that enables firmware upgrades via USB without any additional hardware needed.
