WishlistThe X9 Lite S is the upgraded version of the X9 Lite radio controller. The S model features some welcome additions including dual momentary buttons added on the shoulders of the radio and Hall Sensor gimbals. The changes are not only on the exterior, this upgraded version features accurate SWR indicator along with the addition of our PARA Wireless Trainer Function, making it compatible with the FrSky Free Link App and AirLink S, while the wired training port is still retained. Finally, balance charging for 2S Li-ion battery is now possible via the USB with an included USB cable.
Reminiscent of the legendary X9D, the X9 Lite keeps the same form factor and stick layout that so many pilots have come to love, but for a fraction of the price.
Designed as portable compact radio, the FrSky Taranis X9 Lite is a remarkable fusion of traditional radio design, with the innovations of the latest ACCESS protocol. The X9 Lite inherits its familiar appearance from the Taranis X9D series radio control, albeit in a compacted form factor that preserves the comfort of the classic grip design. It also adds a convenient program scroll button that further improves the user experience when navigating the menus. Other features include haptic and voice feedback and a micro SD card slot just like the Taranis X9D-plus. For beginners, the wired training function is retained, allowing beginners to improve their skills with the security of an instructors input upon command.
Like the Taranis X-Lite Pro, the new Taranis X9 Lite also uses the latest ACCESS communication protocol, along with ErskyTX / OpenTX open source operating system. The benefits of ACCESS include support for 24 channels with a faster baud rate and lower latency with a high-speed module digital interface. Additional ACCESS features like wireless firmware updates and wireless configurations will be gradually unlocked, providing a more reliable, more secure link between the remote and model. Making the X9 Lite a fully functioning remote control with tons of extra features.
If you want to use the ACCST protocol, D16 is supported via a firmware update, so you can continue to use your existing X-series receivers without updating. D8 protocol is no longer supported but the X9 Lite does have a mini module bay so you could install the Vantac multi-protocol module to bind with D8 receivers. If you want to run long range RC system, the Frsky R9M-Lite module is compatible with it.
PLEASE NOTE: The X9 Lite Requires 18650 Batteries - internal charging via USB is now supported.
The 18650 battery tray lines up the batteries lengthwise - meaning your 18650 batteries need to be capped to make a connection to each other. If you are using flat-ended batteries, you can place a small conductive piece of metal such as copper in between to make a connection or solder a tiny dab on one end to connect the two.
