FrSky Taranis Q X7S 2.4GHz 32CH ACCST Radio Transmitter with Case - Blue
The FrSky Taranis Q X7S is the next step on from the original Taranis Q X7 and now comes in a stunning blue case. It also keeps all the great features of the Taranis Q X7 and adds even more. It still has all the usual Taranis features such as Receiver Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) alerts, Real-time Flight Data Telemetry, Receiver Matching and Super Low Latency for precision flying.
The biggest improvement found on the Q X7S radio over the Q X7 is the upgraded gimbals. It uses Hall Sensor M7 gimbals rather than the standard potentiometer type gimbals found on the Q X7 and other lower cost radios. Hall sensor technology provides much better precision for control and don't wear out nearly as quickly, if at all - learn more about their advantages here. The Hall Sensor gimbals can be retrofitted to the original X7, but they cost about £40 for a set (here), and then there is the time to fit them. The gimbals are adjustable, so you can determine what flying mode to set the radio to and also if you want self-centering spring-loaded sticks (standard) or the usual stationary set throttle.
The Taranis mixes the power of the “OPEN TX” open-source software with upgraded 6 programmable switches (4 x 3-position, 1 x 2-position, 1 x momentary) and two twist knobs. This is great for setting up your switches and controls just how you want them.
Using the MicroSD card slot you have unlimited model memory options and you can copy and use all your existing model files from the older TARANIS X9D/X9D Plus/X9E/X7 making it easy to get the new system up and working. The X7S also has a USB port for connecting to a PC for settings adjustments / upgrades and for flying with simulators.
Using the wheel and center enter button makes navigating the backlit menu easy and precise. There is an audio jack output and trainer port. A new addition to the Taranis Q X7S is the Bluetooth wireless trainer function and it is compatible with FrSky Freelink phone app to monitor the sensor data during the flight.
Like the Taranis X9D-Plus, this radio also features a Haptic Vibration Feedback System. Alerts such as low signal warnings and count down timers etc can be presented in the form of audio speech outputs, sound or vibration alerts making this extremely user-friendly.
The radio supports up to 32-channels and there is a module bay that can be used for JR-type modules with other protocol receivers and also for the use of a FrSky XJT module.
The radio comes complete with rechargeable battery, charger and also a very nice soft travel case.
Overall the FrSky Taranis Q X7S is a lightweight, reliable, very versatile radio system that is very cost effective.
