Reviews:

This is the mother of all power distributions boards; it's a PDB with LC filtered 5/12V Becs, OSD and a FDTI programmer all in one regular size board. It's the perfect PDB for anyone building a FPV racing quadcopter, it includes all of the functions you'll need and will help to keep everything neat and tidy.

The board features easy solder pads for your ESCs power connections, with the option to feed the ESC wires up from underneath for a clean build. There are also voltage-regulated connections providing 5 and 12 volts. The 5V BEC connection is ideal for powering your flight controller or RC receiver, while the 12V output could be used to power FPV components or lighting.

The PDB incorporates a power filter that uses an inductor and capacitor to remove noise, feeding a clean power supply to your FPV gear. This is important as if your FPV electronics share the same power source as the motors, you can get interference, seen as moving lines in your video feed.

The board also has dedicated connections for powering a FPV camera and a FPV video transmitter (VTX), with solder jumpers that let you select their output voltage (5/12v). So you can use a 5v camera with a 12v VTX, or a 12v camera with a 12v VTX - Note that the solder jumpers come pre bridged to supply 12v as standard (if you need 5v it's easily adjusted).

Its stand out feature has to be its built in Minim OSD module, which is 100% compatible with the popular KVteam, MWOSD firmware. The OSD coupled with the MWOSD firmware boasts a lot of features. Running standalone without a flight controller connection, it can be used to show battery voltage, power up time and a callsign. If you connect it with your FC via the Tx/Rx connections and have the appropriate sensors, it lets you display all of the usual telemetry data like height, speed and position with a virtual horizon.

The board is a standard 36mm sized PDB, so you can stack it cleanly with the CC3D, Naze and most other board type flight controllers.

Now shipping the V2 board with improved LC filtering.

Features:

  • LC filtered PDB, OSD and FDTI in one board
  • High quality 2oz copper full plate PCB
  • Regulated 5V & 12V BEC outputs, supports 3-6S LiPo

OSD Firmware flashing:

MWOSD Download: Open Source OSD for MultiWii, Baseflight, Cleanfight

Arduino IDE: Required to flash the MinimOSD with the MWOSD Firmware

  • Download the OSD firmware MW OSD and the Arduino Software.
  • Connect OSD to PC using a micro USB cable.
  • Start Arduino IDE.
  • Select File > Open. Browse to the MW_OSD folder and select 'MW_OSD.ino'
  • The MW OSD Firmware needs to be configured so that it knows you are using the Mirco MinimOSD. Click on the tab "config.h" and uncomment #define WITESPYV1 - this option tells the firmware you are using the MircoMinim OSD Hardware. If you are running Cleanflight, also uncomment #define CLEANFLIGHT (Settings Screenshot or File download MW_OSD.zip for example). Remember to recomment (add //) the options you are not using.
  • Before flashing the firmware, be sure your Arduino IDE has as selected board. Go to menu Tools - Board - Arduino Pro or Pro Mini 5V, 16MHz, w/ ATmega328. Also select the proper serial port in menu Tools - Serial Port.
  • Compile and Upload sketch by clicking on the "Upload" button.
  • To configure the OSD, use the MWOSD gui which you find in the MWOSD package.
