We are now selling the new 'Pro' version of the RunCam Eagle - here.

RunCam Eagle Mini 800TVL FPV Camera & Mount 5-17V 4:3 16:9

Introducing the new RunCam Eagle, a camera that many are already calling the best FPV camera on the market currently.

If you've heard anything about selecting an FPV camera, you'd probably been told to only a get a CCD sensor. Now this is no longer the case, as the Eagle uses a 1/1.8" 16:9 CMOS imaging sensor which boast a very high 800TVL resolution. With the Eagle, RunCam have somehow managed to combine the benefits of both CCD and CMOS, whilst losing the problems faced by CMOS, namely latency and dynamic range.

In fact, the stand out feature of the Eagle its global wide dynamic range (WDR). Dynamic range refers to a camera's light handling ability. With the Eagle the camera can be pointed directly at the sun and everything remains correctly exposed, furthermore light transitions from bright areas to dark are handled without issue. Its latency is also minimal, stated at 45-50ms which is fine for even FPV racing.

The camera is available in a 4:3 aspect ratio, which is traditional for FPV cameras, and also 16:9, which is suited to widescreen goggles like the FatShark Dominator V3 and Headplays. This is great news as lots of the higher end FPV goggles these days have an aspect ratio of 16:9 which ends up stretching 4:3 video.

As with previous RunCam cameras, the Eagle also has an OSD to change settings like contrast and saturation. It now provides a new option, namely a zoom function that saves the need for a lens change. The zoom function crops the image without a noticeable lost in quality, which is helpful for those who prefer to fly with a narrower field of view.

Unlike the RunCam Swift and other HS1177 type FPV cameras, the Eagle's case is made of a lightweight magnesium alloy instead of plastic, which helps with heat radiating and it's more crash resistant.

The RunCam Eagle has a wide 5 to 17 Volt operating voltage, which makes it plug and play compatible with most FPV transmitters.

Finally, the camera comes with its own mounting bracket, which, together with its compact dimensions make this camera a great option for any FPV drone.
